The Cup of Excellence program recognizes and rewards the individual farmers who have invested the time and effort to create an exceptional coffee. These winning coffees are chosen by a select group of national and international cuppers and are cupped at least five different times during the competition process. Only coffees that continuously score high enough are allowed to move forward in the competition. The final winners are awarded the prestigious Cup of Excellence and sold to the highest bidder during an internet auction. When the auction proceeds are returned to the farm, the money is spent in the rural areas and often benefits the larger community with increased employment and land improvements. A great situation for everyone! This coffee has a light body with a nice smooth finish.
